Notes

Abstract:
This photo album was put together most likely in Egypt at the RAF base Abu-Sueir (Suwayr) by a member of the British Peshawar brigade, possibly by the same member of the British Royal Airforce, No. 84 Squadron, who created "[Photograph album of R.A.F. overseas tour Iraq Nov. 1931-1933]". The handwriting appears to be a match, photographic themes are repeated, and the colloquialisms used in the captions also reappear here. Between 1932 and 1935, the implementation of the Anglo-Iraqi Treaty was taking place, along with the reassessment of the North-west frontier of India in the second Mohmand Campaign, wherein Great Britain maintained colonial interests and exercised military power via new airforce tactics. Photos consist of personal shots showing aircraft, activities, excursions, and military compadres of the photo album's creator. The album culminates with an "Airmens's Mess Christmas 1934 Menu."
General Note:
"Views from Iraq, India, Egypt. From 1932 -1935."--inside front cover.
General Note:
English.
General Note:
